Yoga Heights is made up of students who are fascinating people.  We are excited to introduce you to them one by one via the blog!Meet Megan.  She first visited Yoga Heights in August of 2015, and has since taken 435 classes!  You’ll usually find her sweating on her mat in Power Flow or Hot Flow classes before she heads off to work where she makes a positive impact on kids’ and families’ lives all day long.Yoga Heights: Why do you practice yoga?Megan: Yoga is an hour where I can breathe and stay in the moment. Taking that off the mat has been so beneficial, as I work with children and they need a LOT of patience. YH: Tell us about your first experience at Yoga Heights.M: Gosh, I can't remember but I loved it enough to sign up for a year membershipYH: What classes do you go to at YH and why?M: I LOVE Steve's Saturday morning class because he makes even the hardest things sound like a breeze. I love Caroline's AM classes because they're powerful and she was one of the first teachers I took a class from before I even came to Yoga Heights. LOVE Becky's Friday morning class because she always reminds me to breathe and her music is so great. When I can make them, I also love Michelle's classes because they're so flowy and stretchy, and Angela's classes because they're strong and she always reminds you how strong you are.YH: What do you do when you're not on the mat?M: I am a pediatric speech therapist at The Speech Space (www.thespeechspacedc.com). I work with young children (18mos-5years) who may have difficulty communicating or being understood. We do free screenings, if you have questions about your child! YH: Where did you grow up?M: Austin, TXYH: What neighborhood do you live in now?M: Petworth! We love having Megan as a regular around the studio and we hope you’ll get to know her the next time you’re mat neighbors!
